Ultimately, though, it does escalate to kinetic weaponry.  I also wouldn't rule out expected-utility-obeying, recursively self-improving AI designed to accomplish narrow tasks such as destroying large areas.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;No one has ever really thought in detail before about using MNT to create cosmic bullets... we're seeing the very first concrete thoughts about it right here on this blog.
