Avatar has hit $1.602 billion of worldwide box office
This is a followup to my predictions on Avatar articles The box office tracking closely to my expectations and even a bit stronger. So I think the $2.55 billion worldwide prediction looks better and better.
After weekend up to $1.615 billion worldwide. End of Week 4 was $1.44 billion. Expect $85 million for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday (foreign was not counted for Monday yet). For $1.7 billion by the end of week 5.
$350-360 million added in Week 5
Projections – Predictions
Week 6 – $260 million est, $1.97 billion world, $570 million domestic
Week 7 – $200 million est, $2.17 billion world, $610 million domestic
Week 8 – $150 million est, $2.32 billion world, $630 million domestic
Week 9 – $115 million est, $2.44 billion world, $650 million domestic
Note – corrected a math error $1.7X billion + 260 million = 1.97 billion and not $1.87 billion.
So I expect the titanic record to be broken in this coming week for worldwide. A good shot at breaking the domestic total by the end of week 7 and definitely have the domestic by in beginning week 8 weekend.
Money talks and James Cameron has listened so there will be an Avatar Trilogy
Monday had another $11.8 million in Domestic Box office.
So this week should see $68-69 million in domestic box office. This is an extra 7.7 million because of the long weekend.
