Future Proposed and still Active Projects and Under Construction Skyscrapers


The Nakheel Tower had started construction, but was cancelled in Dec 2009 due to the financial crisis in Dubai. The Nakheel was to be 1000 meters tall.


Proposed and the projects are Still Active

The Burj Al Meel project is still active and is proceeding to award a design contract. If it is built it could be a mile high building

The Mubarak al-Kabir Tower project in Kuwait is still ongoing The skyscraper is planned to top out at 3,284 feet, or 1,001 meters and is currently scheduled to complete in 2016. It is part of the City of Silk, Madinat Al Hareer project

The Murjan Tower is a 1,022 m (3,353 ft) supertall skyscraper proposed for construction in Manama, Bahrain.

Kingdom tower is a 1,000 meter high Kingdom Tower in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Taller than Old Number One Taipei 101 But Less Than Burj Dubai

Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation is involved in Pagcor tower. It is scheduled to be completed in 2012.

The PAGCOR Tower is a 665 m (2,182 ft) tall observation tower approved for construction near Manila Bay in Manila, Philippines. It will be a part of the under construction Bagong Nayong Pilipino-Entertainment City

The Digital Media Landmark building is under construction in Seoul. It is a 133-floor, 640 m (2,100 ft) supertall skyscraper and is expected to be the second tallest building when it is completed in 2015.

Shanghai toweris a super tall skyscraper under construction in the Pudong District of Shanghai. Upon completion, the building will rise approximately 632 metres (2,073 ft)

The Pingan International Finance Center was going to be taller but is now planned for about 508 meters There are other skyscrapers proposed and under construction in China but none currently will be taller than the Shanghai tower
